Hi there, I've been a pilot for a living for most of my adult life. I'm 31, and while I love what I do and I've become pretty good at my particular niche and I like the paycheck. That said, this field feels pretty meaningless. I'm a technician, which is fine, but me hauling grandma to Omaha, or rich people, or Amazon Boxes, or whatever has always felt pretty pointless. Not only that, but the flying I do (up in Alaska where it seems less pointless than in the lower 48) has me flying over climate change related wildfires. I was just up on the slope a week or so ago and the sea-ice is so far off shore to be out of sight and it was hot - I feel like I'm actually a part of hurting the environment. I dunno, I am about to pay off my student loans, and I want to do something that makes a meaningful difference in the world. I want to do something with green / sustainable buildings or community design I think. How can I work on projects that start fixing some of these problems? What education would I need to get into a field where I could help design sustainable buildings and/or communities?

Hey all, I'm currently in my 5th year of teaching high school mathematics. I love being in the classroom and want to stay there, and thinking about my career my next move is to do my masters. I really want to do MS in math rather than a because I want to deal more with content, and also because an MS in math would allow for both a pay bump and the ability to teach dual credit, but an does not qualify for dual credit in math in my state. I am having a lot of trouble though finding MS math online programs though, and even fewer options for working professionals. Does anyone have any recommendations or advice for potential programs?
