Joe Jarrah I have been sailing since I was nine years old when I joined the Sea Scouts in Holland - I'm Dutch. As I got older I rented boats and after university I sailed as a charter skipper in Greece during my holidays. Later on, I took year out to work as a trainee skipper for Global Yacht Racing whilst training for my Yachtmaster. During that year I did plenty of racing including the Middle Sea Race, Antigua Race Week, Cowes Week and other ing in the yachting industry for a short period was valuable in many ways but as well as teaching me new techniques the experience generated a great network of contacts with whom Im still in touch. I competed in the Middle Sea Race in 2009 and it is an event that makes a big impression on you. The culture the scenery, even the harbour alone is stunning; you feel like you are in Julius Caesar's Rome! The race itself is superb too, one of my best moments was sitting on deck watching Mount Etna spitting lava and wondering what it would be like when the volcano really blew.

Fantastic Patrick Good I started sailing with Andy Middleton in Cowes Week 2004 after I was introduced to him by a friend. I have been sailing with him every year since be it a Round the Island Race, Cowes Week or Hamble Winter Series. It was Andy that got me into racing - I had previously spent most of my sailing time cruising with friends, either on their boats or on bareboat charter. Doing an offshore race seemed like the next logical step. I looked at various possibilities including an Atlantic crossing, the Fastnet and the like. The Middle Sea Race was as close to the shallow end (of offshore racing) as I could think of. I had also heard good accounts from friends who had done it. I would at some point like to own my own boat but for now Global Yacht Racing's set up represents good value for money by comparison and also takes the stress and time out of owning a yacht for yourself, plus, you're racing competitively and learning at the same time. This is only possible with a well-prepared and well run boat and that is why I keep going back to Global Yacht Racing.
RTI Yacht Charter Global Yacht Racing put together a superb charter for the RTI. Our reunion of experienced Round The World Clipper sailors is now bitten by the thrill of fast-paced round-the-cans racing! Race Training As yacht owners ourselves and keen RORC racers we wanted to hone our race skills. A series of highly focused weekends raised our skill level in all areas and prepared us for a full season of racing. Our results proved the training from experienced sailors was well worthwhile. Patrick & Catherine Keohane Rolex Fastnet 2019 An extremely professional campaign which has spurred me into more offshore sailing. I am now looking ahead to the Rolex Middle Sea Race! Craig Wingfield My father signed me up for the RORC C600. I enjoyed meeting some cool people (and great sailors) in a fun, yet competitive environment. We did a really nice job (achieving a 3rd in Class) in a very tight race. Andy is a cool guy and a great instructor. I learned a ton! It is great to sail with Andy, a great instructor who was always happy to help our learning by answering all our questions and share his experiences. Most importantly, it is also brilliant to sail with a company who take the racing seriously (not just getting us round) and still have an enormous amount of fun and some serious belly laughs Annie Sirut I would recommend anyone that wants a life changing experience to try offshore yacht racing with Global Yacht Racing. Be prepared for the unpleasant cold moments, but also to have your breath taken away with nature's brilliance which one would never see on land Dawn Mottram Andy's ability to provide expert tips and suggestions to enhance the sailing whilst keeping a great level of humour, fun and laughs made this trip fly past. Being my first trip on a race yacht was a challenge which Andy helped everybody work through and changing headsails soon became a fast and fluid routine - after a few soakings! The most memorable part of this trip had to be surfing down waves at 10 knots in beautiful sunshine with the stereo blasting out Who Let The Dogs Out and having the very fun race skipper trainee Kate as a watch mate.
